About this tool
Why does a link preview matter?
Most people meet your business through a shared link: a text from a friend, a Facebook post, a Google result. A clear title, a short description and a good picture make that link look trustworthy and get it tapped. A blank grey box does the opposite.
Are these the exact previews each app will show?
They are close approximations built from the same tags the apps read. Each app also caches previews and changes its layout from time to time, so a fix can take a while to show up where a link was already shared. Facebook’s Sharing Debugger can refresh its copy.
What happens to the address I enter?
This site’s server loads that page once, and the start of its share image, to read the tags. Nothing is saved. Your browser then loads the share image and icon straight from that website to draw the previews.
What is the best share image size?
1200 × 630 pixels, under 1 MB, as a JPG or PNG, with any text or logo kept away from the edges. That shape works on every app checked here.
Can you fix this for me?
Yes. Every site I build ships with its own share image and these tags on every page, and fixing them on an existing site is one of the small fixes. Or run the free website review for a wider check.
