Deer Creek Stone

A family-owned flagstone quarry rebranding from Galvez Stone needed buyers nationwide to find and trust the new name.

What the business needed.

Deer Creek Stone is a family-owned natural stone quarry in Graysville, Tennessee, that had been known as Galvez Stone. A rename puts years of word of mouth at risk: past customers search for the old name, and new buyers have never heard the new one.

The quarry also sells beyond its region. Homeowners, landscapers, and builders outside Tennessee had to be able to understand what it sells, see real installations, and ask for a quote.

What I built.

  1. Rebrand continuity

The new name appears with “Formerly Galvez Stone” in the header area, the page title, the meta description, and the business structured data (as an alternate name), and a dedicated article explains the change.

  2. A product catalog buyers can navigate

Eight product pages (flagstone, slabs, treads, wall stone, rubble strips, steps, cobblestone, and fire pit rings and tables), each linked from the homepage and the products index.

  3. Proof of real work

A portfolio of installed projects so a buyer can see the stone in use, not just in a catalog photo.

  4. Quote requests everywhere

Every page leads to a quote request, with both phone lines visible in the header.

  5. Content and crawlability

A blog with buyer-focused articles, an XML sitemap listing every product and article, canonical URLs, and LocalBusiness structured data.

  6. Lighter social embeds

Instagram posts load only when a visitor asks for them, so the embed does not slow the first view of the page.

Measured, not estimated.

Only categories that were actually tested are shown with a score. A dash means that category has not been recorded yet. Scores change over time, so treat these as a dated snapshot.
